People living with Type 1 diabetes often require multiple injections of insulin each day – and different types of insulin depending on the situation. Even with insulin pumps, patients still require insulin as well as supplies and equipment to test and monitor blood glucose levels. Not only does insulin require careful handling and storage, it’s expensive. Along with other medications and lost productivity, the cost of diabetes in the US alone is $90 billion a year. Endsulin’s goal is to free Type 1 diabetes patients from the needles, vials and pumps they live with today: endependence on insulin so they can live longer, healthier and better lives.
